Monroe County Holdup Men In Custody
In East Stroudsburg, Police say they arrested two men for robbery after a masked man driving a car aroused an officer's suspicions.
Stroud Area Regional Police say an officer on patrol was passed Wednesday night by a car driven by a man in a mask. The officer followed the car and called for backup after one man went inside a convenience store with what appeared to be a gun.
Investigators say the man came out with the tray from the cash register and the duo fled. Police cornered the car and took both men into custody.
Police arrested 18-year-old Eric Florio of Bangor and 22-year-old Steven Borton of Nazareth. Florio is charged with robbery and other counts and is being held on $25,000 bail. Borton is awaiting arraignment.
It was not immediately clear if either man had an attorney.
