State To Invest In Fixing Bridges

A new transportation investment -- signed into law Monday -- will clear the way for 411 bridge repair projects this year.
Pennsylvania's list of 6,000 structurally-deficient bridges leads the nation, but a $350-million dollar investment -- through this year's budget deal -- will ensure that 411-more bridges see reconstruction this year. Rendell wanted to invest now in needed bridge repairs, citing an average 12% annual jump in construction costs.
