Relax...it's just the Presidency!

Wow...I picked a good time to get rebuilt.  Things were getting real nasty up until I checked out of local talk and checked into the hospital.  It's like shades of 2004 all over again.  I think everyone needs to get some painkillers and chill out already. 

In case you didn't know, I went through breast reconstruction at Geisinger in Danville.  I've blogged about this procedure in the past along with a link to the info on what it all entails.  Basically, there are expandable saline implants in right now...and over the course of a couple of months I'll get injections of saline to slowly stretch the chest muscle and grow.  Sort of like puberty at the age of 40.   It's best to have a sense of humor about this.

Back to politics.  As I'm being wheeled into my hospital room following surgery, in my morphine riddled body I hear Chris Matthews in the background barking about pigs and lipstick.  I remember thinking....I can't even escape it here!

Since that time I have witnessed more chatty morning tv talk shows, sneaker wearing hosts dancing and soap dramas that I care to count.  They were my only escape from the nonsense on the 24 hour news channels.  Even those daytime talk shows weren't immune to the political bug.  This is a bug that is destructive, and quickly becomes uncontrollable.  I don't want to get all preachy and everything....but I will.  There is more to life than who ends up in the White House.  Stop fighting with your friends and family.  Stop emailing awful things to talk hosts who think someone else is a better candidate.  Both parties want us at each other's throats so we don't look at the real problem..which is their dysfunction.
To quote Barack Obama...and now John McCain...let's all say 'Enough is enough'. 

By the way, I've tried to wrap my arms around this financial situation, and like most people, find it can be very confusing.  For years I have been reading at different sites, and on different blogs, to get something that is easy to understand.  I've found a very interesting article that I think lays it out real nice. Give it a read if you want.  It sums up what I think the real problem has been in these last 6 years or so.
