Are you on Facebook? It seems this social networking site has surged in recent weeks. I’m hearing about it from people of my age group..not just the younger generation. I shudder as I write. I am on Facebook, and now The Morning News with Nancy and Kevin is on there as well. While a lot of people frequently post what they’re doing each way, for me it’s primarily a way to connect with the people I’ve lost touch with over the years.
This Christmas I received a return to sender on a Christmas card I sent to an old friend. I hadn’t been in touch in recent years and wanted to reconnect. I was disappointed to have lost the only means I had to get in touch. Then I thought about Facebook. Sure enough, she was on there. It was great to say hi, and we were able to send messages that weren’t on display to the rest of our friends. I’m not being paid to promote Facebook, I just think it’s a great way to say hi and keep up to date on what’s going on in the live’s of family and friends.
Obviously, we should do our best to get together face to face with the important people in our lives, but we are very busy and I think a quick hello is always better than silence.
