Fit for a queen?

You may have heard President Obama gave Queen Elizabeth a video ipod full of show tunes as a gift on April Fool’s Day.
Someone should have told the president the gift was for the queen, not a queen.
Thank you, I will be here all night. Have the veal.
However, here’s a smattering of responses from our smarmy listeners of your suggestions for proper gifts:

A Segway , you know the thing you ride..
Paul

If I met Queen Elizabeth, I would give her Barack Obama!
Ken

Let's give the Queen back the mess we have here, and start all over again.
Larry

The Queen deserves and is worthy of a lifetime membership to the Sugernotch Muzle Loaders Club. Picture all those little doggies and her majesty frolicking to show tunes on Kanjorski's bought and paid for culm banks!!!! I don't know about you sue but my minds eye paints a very regal Picture....
Joe

What would I give the queen?  How about giving her the original Declaration of Independence and the Constitution - we certainly aren't using them over here.
Scott

You cannot for a minute think that the gift of an ipod by the president was his idea. There was probably a four hour meeting by the staffs of both parties to come up with this gift. Get real; if you think this was off the top of their heads, you are the dreamer.
Robert

Give her a case of good gin.  By the way, I think that is what she carries in her purse! :)
Steve

If I were the queen, I would love to get about 10 dozen White Castle hamburgers, a couple of pepperoni pizzas from Old Forge and of course a couple of cases from Yuengling Lager to wash it all down.
 Al

The queen must be having flashbacks of the 1980's when Princess Diana
was bopping around the palace with her Sony Walkman attached to her
ears.  Do you remember how she hated that?!!!!
Jill

I would bring a good bottle of USA made wine and make it simple.  The queen seemed to enjoy the ipod so she must be more savvy than I am.  I don't even know how to use an ipod, and I am 30 years younger than she is. The royals gave the Obama's a signed picture of themselves - I would not be too thrilled with that gift either. These gifts should be stopped - an 85 year old royal probably needs "nothing".
Joanne

Apparently narcissistic Obama even uploaded several of his own speeches on the iPod for the Queen to listen to. When Pres. Bush met with the Queen, he gave her a framed letter that her father the King had sent to one of our previous presidents (I forget which president at the moment) back in the 1950s.
 Leisa

Good job. Keep those cards and letters coming!!!
