In just a few days I’ll be taking part in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life at Dunmore High School. This is the Greater Scranton Area’s annual fundraiser for the ACS. I never realized everything the American Cancer Society has to offer until I was diagnosed with breast cancer more than two years ago. Donate here.
Did you know that they will help you pay for the gas it costs to get to your chemo and radiation treatments? Did you know they will either give you a free wig, or help you pay for one if you lose your hair while undergoing chemotherapy? Need to go out of town for good quality medical care? The ACS will help pay the cost of travel and they have Hope Lodges near a number of facilities so you can stay free overnight for your treatment.
In addition to all of that, they have vast information resources online that help you navigate through the questions surrounding a cancer diagnosis. From stats and facts on every cancer, to information on coping with treatments and leading the charge on legislation that helps to prevent and fight cancer. The American Cancer Society is on the front line in the battle.
You know someone who has cancer. This could be your mother, father, sibling, a best friend or neighbor. It could be you. Maybe not today, but unfortunately, chances are either you or someone you love will have cancer. You’ll need the ACS. Please help me raise money so others can be helped. It’s the gift that keeps giving. If you’re there for others now, they’ll be there for you should you need them. Please, no amount is too small. You can give online, it’s safe and it’s fast. Do it in memory of a loved one or in honor of a survivor. I thank you for whatever you can do. Click here to donate.
Best of health to you and yours.
