Fires In W-B, Jermyn, Ruled Arson

There was nothing accidental about the fire that demolished part of the Murray Complex in Wilkes-Barre Sunday. Investigators say the blaze was set.  Firefighters from a number of communities battled the flames for about nine hours. The complex is in the process of being demolished and developed by Lackawanna County developer Daniel Siniawa and the project continues.

Eight people had to find a new place to live after a fire hit their apartment buildling in Jermyn Tuesday night.  They were moved to other county-owned housing....including the Lackawanna County Prison.  Investigators say 20 year old Timothy Ferguson, of 4 Henry Drive set the fire in two spots in his apartment.  The report says a friend said he was arguing with Ferguson over who owned some video games when Ferguson began stabbing his couch and tossing lit matches around. He's locked up awaiting a preliminary hearing.
