You're getting a look at the flood control system along the River Common in Wilkes-Barre. The flood gates on North and South River Streets are closed and will stay that way for a while. They'll be watching the river as a system brings heavy rain to the area for the weekend. Of course it's the weekend for the Saint Patrick's Day parades in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Stormtracker 16 Meteorologist Joe Snedeker says there could be some breaks of dry during the deluge. Any flood potential would come from the significant rainfall and snowpack melt from the mild temperatures.
